For a split second, it seemed like DeShone Kizer was going to pull off a miracle.

Or at the very least a play that would keep the Browns from going 0-16 on the season.

On fourth and two, he threw what appeared to be a perfect spiral to Corey Coleman. It would have given the Browns a first down, a chance to score at a crucial point in the game. It would have given them their second win in two seasons. Their first win this season.

But then, it went through Coleman's hands.

It was horrible. It was the Browns season, perfectly captured in one failed catch. Coleman was seen as the game neared its then-inevitable end on the sideline looking dismayed - and getting words of encouragement from Kizer after the failed play.

Of course it was his fault - you have to make that catch. But it was one of dozens of failed plays, catches, moments and missed tackles throughout the season of a team that's built to be in rebuilding mode.

Yes, it's easy to laugh at. There will likely be a parade marking the sad moment.

But they're also people who had to go to work everyday in a tough environment on their way to making history. Coleman was put in a situation to be the miracle for a team that couldn't even get a lucky roll their way.

And for that, even though it's easy to laugh at Coleman, perhaps it's better to feel a little bad for him.

Because, honestly, this was the only way it was probably going to end. And for the people who have to remember this moment in their nightmares - no matter what responsibility for it they hold - that stinks.
