A man with memory issues is missing and the Greer Police Department is looking for help finding him.

The police department said in a statement that a resident of Ridgeview Community Care Home on Chandler Road had gone missing Saturday evening.

William Burton Hoffman, 64, left the home around 8:30 p.m. and has not returned, according to the police department. The police department was contacted Sunday morning and sent out a public alert around 2:40 p.m.

"Hoffman is known to have several mental health issues that affects his memory and causes confusion," the department said in a statement..

He is identified as being 5 foot 6 inches, around 135 pounds with grayish/brown hair and brown eyes. Hoffman was wearing blue jeans, a T-shirt, a black leather jacket and tennis shoes.

Anyone with information about Hoffman's whereabouts is asked to call the police department at 864-848-2151.
