Ranji Trophy 2017, Delhi vs Vidarbha, Day 3 Live: Wasim Jaffer scored fifty on Day 2.

It has been yet another session which went Vidarbha’s way. The side lost two quick wickets early in the session with Akshay Wakhare and experienced Wasim Jaffer getting out. Both the batsmen became victims to Navdeep Saini who bowled beautifully in the first hour of the day. But, then Akshay Wadkar and Aditya Sarwate started scoring at a fast pace and took their side past Delhi’s innings total. Sarwate, who was the main aggressor of the two scored his fifty in just 62 balls. The two added 90 runs till the close of the session and took Vidarbha’s total to 336/6 at Lunch. The Faiz Fazal-led side is leading by 41 runs and will look to continue with the same momentum in the second innings.

1210 hrs IST: Back from LUNCH! Sarwate on the strike and Mishra with the ball. Can he get a wicket here?

1130 hrs IST: LUNCH on Day 3. This session belongs to Vidarbha. Delhi managed to get two quick wickets but a brilliant partnership between Akshay Wadkar and Aditya Sarwate gave them the lead in the first innings.

1120 hrs IST: Aditya Sarwate scores fifty on 62 balls. This has been a truly special innings from him. He has been absolutely brilliant coming down after the fall of Wasim Jaffer, which put Vidarbha on the back foot.

1100 hrs IST: Delhi needs to find a way to break this partnership between Wadkar and Sarwate. They are scoring at a fast pace which has really hurt Delhi in the first session.

1050 hrs IST: FOUR! Vidarbha have taken the lead here. They are leading by 5 runs over Delhi. Akshay Wadkar and Aditya Sarwate have stitched a solid partnership of 58 runs here. Vidarbha 304/6, lead by 9 runs.

1040 hrs IST: Vidarbha are so close to taking the lead now, they can almost smell it. Something for Delhi skipper Rishabh Pant to think about now. He needs to make some changes to stop the run flow.

1020 hrs IST: This has been a good partnership between Akshay Wadkar and Aditya Sarwate. The duo have looked comfortable and have added a quick 28 runs. Vidarbha are trailing now by 21 runs.

0955 hrs IST: WICKET! Wasim Jaffer departs on 78 and it’s a BIG WICKET for Navdeep Saini. The ball struck him on pads. A huge appeal from Saini and the umpire raises his fingers. But was it going away from off-stumps? VID 246/6, trail by 49 runs

0935 hrs IST: WICKET! Navdeep Saini strikes for Delhi! Finally a moment of joy for skipper Rishabh Pant who made no mistakes behind the wickets. Akshay Wakhare gets a thick inside edge and gives a simple catch behind stumps. He departs on 17. VID 237/5, trailing by 57 runs.

0930 hrs IST: If Delhi want to bounce back in the game, they need someone from Navdeep Saini and Akash Sudan to bowl a spell like Rajneesh Gurbani did on Day 2. At the moment, it seems too easy for Vidarbha and they are taking it slowly and methodically to get past Delhi’s 1st innings total.

0910 hrs IST: Wasim Jaffer was dropped on 61 by Kunal Chandela at slips at the start of the day. It is these kinds of mistakes that can go on to hurt Delhi later in the day.
