Showtime has reportedly pulled the plug on its biopic comedy White Famous after just one season.
The series starred Jay Pharoah as Floyd Mooney, a stand-up comedian on the brink of mega-fame, and was largely based on the earliest career days of Jamie Foxx, who appeared as himself in two episodes of the series' inaugural season.
White Famous premiered on the pay cable network in mid-October and concluded its 10-episode Season 1 run in early December. The Wrap confirmed that the series will be shuttered after its brief run.
Pharoah himself seemed to respond to the news of the show's end with optimism about his own future -- if not that of the show itself.
The fans love @SHO_WhiteFamous and so do we, thank you all for the support, love y'all so much for taking to the show.. To BE CONTINUED!
