CHANDIGARH: A district court here has dismissed the local police's application seeking production warrant of Sunita, alleged mastermind in the
Haryana Civil Service (judicial) paper leak case, to confront her, along with another accused.
On December 28, Chandigarh police had arrested another key accused
Balwinder Sharma, registrar of the
Punjab and
Haryana high court. He was produced in court on Friday, which sent him to three-day police remand following which Chandigarh police moved an application, saying that they wanted to interrogate both accused together. However, the court dismissed the plea.
Opposing the plea, the defence counsel argued that the police had no logical reason as Sharma was interrogated for seven hours on December 28. He argued that as far as confrontation of Sharma with Sunita was concerned, the police had already interrogated Sharma for 55 hours within three months. He also argued that on November 10, the police had interrogated Sunita and Sharma when she was in police remand.
