Ziehl-Abegg sales figures reach half billion euros, expects 10% rise end of Dec

Ziehl-Abegg, a global leader in the field of ventilation, control and drive technology, have announced that it is increasing its turnover rate faster than what has been previously forecast. The company attributes this to the sale of its energy-saving products.

“By the end of November we reached sales of half a billion euros”, says Peter Fenkl, the CEO of Ziehl-Abegg. The Künzelsau-based industrial company develops, builds and sells fans and electric motors for lifts, medical technology applications, remotely operated underwater vehicles and electric buses.

The company has stated that 2017 will go into the Ziehl-Abegg books as a record year. After achieving sales of 484 million euros in 2016, by the end of December this year the company expects to post annual sales of around 530 million euros. This represents an increase of ten percent.

The positive development right across every continent is being driven by modern, energy-saving products that are used in numerous fields. For example, in modern wind turbines or large data centres, because low energy fans for cooling and ventilation are always in demand.

Back in the Fifties, Ziehl-Abegg established the basis for modern fan drives: external rotor motors which even today are still seen as state-of-the-art worldwide. Another area of business is electric motors which provide the power, for example, for elevators, medical applications (computer tomography equipment) or deep-sea underwater vehicles. The theme of electro-mobility for motor vehicles was established as part of the Ziehl-Abegg Automotive Team in 2012.
