A man accused of the slaying of a North Dakota woman in 2016 is back in jail in Lafayette Parish.
Deputies, with assistance from the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's SWAT team, arrested 44-year-old Joseph Delahoussaye, Jr. about 3 a.m. Saturday in connection with the murder of a man in Carencro this week. A spokesman with the sheriff's office says gas was used multiple times while apprehending him.
Delahoussaye is accused of killing Bobby Duplechin in the 800 block of LA 1252 on Wednesday.
The man is also accused of killing a North Dakota woman in 2016, according to a report by KATC. On Sept. 2, 2016, Lafayette Parish Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a suicide at a residence on Georgine Street, but after further investigation, deputies determined the death of 29-year-old Rachael Alexander was a homicide, according to the report. In January, Delahoussaye was indicted on one count of second-degree murder in her death.
Delahoussaye was booked and then released on bond before landing back in jail Saturday.
