BSF on high alert ahead of New Year’s Eve

JAISALMER: As the country celebrates New Year, the Border Security Force (BSF) at Rajasthan border is on high alert to ward off any untoward incidents or intrusion amid excessive fog and cold.

BSF has started Operation Alert and deployed additional security in sensitive areas. Patrolling has been increased at the border and surveillance equipment is being used to keep a strict watch. Along with, directions have been given to foil any untoward incident.


BSF Rajasthan Frontier DIG Ravi Gandhi said that especially on Holi, Diwali and New Year, the borders become very sensitive and strict vigil is maintained. At present, adverse conditions of thick fog and cold have gripped the border areas. The temperature here has dipped to 1 degree Celsius. Operation Alert has been started and surveillance equipment like night vision device and additional force has been deployed at sensitive places.


Vehicle and foot patrolling has also been increased. Orders have been given to deal strictly with any untoward activities. Strict watch is being kept at the border villages.
