Nintendo Switch update: Fans given AMAZING news ahead of 2018

NINTENDO Switch owners can expect some colourful additions in 2018, as the company experiments with new attachments.

Nintendo Switch Joy ConEXPRESS NEWSPAPERS

Nintendo Switch custom Joy-Cons could be on the cards

owners have been treated to the best news, as the platform holder promises more Joy-Con customisation.

Nintendo's Shinya Takahashi told IGN that the company is thinking about releasing new Joy-Con colours and designs.

"One of the great strengths of the Nintendo Switch is that though you can play it as a console, you can also separate these two controllers from the hardware,” Takahashi said.

“This gives us a lot of possibilities that we could consider for the future in terms of what you could attach.

"I think that that would be a really good time for us to think about some very different colours or designs applied to [Joy-Con]. That might be interesting."

Takahashi is also a fan of Switch owners experimenting with their own combinations and designs.

"There’s a lot of joy to be had from hand making something yourself or having all of those customisable possibilities, and we absolutely embrace that," he said. "We love to see that."

The news comes as nine new releases hit the Nintendo Switch eShop.

The latest batch of Nintendo eShop releases is headlined by Steamworld Heist: Ultimate Edition, which costs £14.99.

The Ultimate Edition is fully optimised for Switch, and features the DLC 'Outsider' campaign.

"In SteamWorld Heist you command robot pirates in epic tactical shootouts, it’s turn-based strategy with a twist: By manually aiming your weapons you'll pull off insane bullet-bouncing trick shots!" reads a Nintendo post.

"As the captain, you board, loot and shoot your way through enemy spaceships. Overcome the challenges of the vast frontier by upgrading your recruits with unique abilities, weapons - and even stylish hats!"
