Thanks to Salman Khan – Katrina Kaif’s Tiger Zinda Hai, the Hindi film industry doesn’t have to wait for New Year 2018 to start celebrating. The Friday figures have just come in and the film has earned another amazing Rs 11.56 crore to take the total to Rs 217.60 on Day 8. (Fri 34.10 cr, Sat 35.30 cr, Sun 45.53 cr, Mon 36.54 cr, Tue 21.60 cr, Wed 17.55 cr, Thu 15.42 cr, Fri 11.56 cr. Total: Rs 217.60 crore India.

Tweeting about the latest numbers and the box office trend that Tiger Zinda Hai has followed so far, Trade expert and senior film critic Taran Adarsh opined, “#TigerZindaHai maintains a STRONG TREND… Now chasing the score set by #BajrangiBhaijaan [Rs 320.34 cr] and #Sultan [Rs 300.45 cr]… Biz expected to jump again on Sat [today], Sun and Mon [1 Jan]… [Week 2] Fri 11.56 cr. Total: ₹ 217.60 cr. India biz.(sic).” The aforementioned figures for both Salman’s films indicate earnings by the end of second week since the films’ release. However, TZH has hit its lowest collection so far on Friday. If it doesn’t pick up, the feat might look far from achievable. It will have to maintain an average of at least Rs 10 crore to beat the records by Sultan and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
The film is Salman Khan – director Ali Abbas Zafar’s second collaboration and considering how the audience have received it, we will not be surprised to see this association be carried on for several more years. They are already doing Bharat together and Tiger Zinda Hai already has scope for another, third installment! Well, with the results so good, another Tiger-Zoya saga only makes sense. What say?
