Kate (played by Faye Brookes) will become embroiled in a complicated love triangle when she kisses Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent) after a night out. 

While Kate is still very much in love with Rana (Bhavna Limbachia), with whom she’s been enjoying a steamy affair, Sophie believes there could be a relationship on the cards. 

Rana is later left heartbroken when Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan) reveals that Kate and Sophie shared a kiss. 

While Kate struggles to deal with the consequences of her actions she decides to leave Weatherfield and tells Rana she’s moving to Devon. 

Later when she leaves the Rovers Return to get into a waiting taxi, Rana rushes after her and begs her not to go. 

Unfortunately, their chat is interrupted by Sophie, who is also devastated to hear Kate is leaving to live in Carla Connor’s (Alison King) home. 

Rana and Sophie watch on as Kate leaves the cobbles with the latter confiding in the nurse that she’d fallen for The Bistro worker.

Desperate to save her secret romance with Kate, Rana ensures her that she’s never be interested and she should just move on. 

In coming episodes, Rana will struggle with Kate’s departure but will find support from her brother Imran (Charlie de Melo). 

Soap star Charlie teased: “Things seem to go from bad to worse and he’s staunchly there to defend her at every possible opportunity.”
