At least 12 dead in 'historic' Bronx building fire

A 5-alarm fire broke out in an apartment building on Prospect Ave. in the Bronx on Dec. 28, 2017, killing twelve residents, including a child, as firefighters battled the blaze in the freezing cold. Officials later determined that a boy left unattended in another apartment ignited the blaze while playing with a stove.
