The second session started in a similar fashion as the first one as both the batsmen continued to pile on runs without losing any wicket. Skipper Faiz Fazal went on to score a fifty in the final. Every time he has reached a fifty in this season, he has been able to convert it into a century. The duo added on 96 runs to the total before Akash Sudan smelt blood and gave a success to Delhi. It was R Sanjay who departed after scoring 31 runs. Much experienced Wasim Jaffer came on after Sanjay and he took over from where he left off. But the partnership with him and Fazal could not go on for much longer as Akash Sudan as get his second wicket in the match, and it was a big one. Skipper Faiz Fazal departed on 67, his first fifty plus innings this season in Ranji which he failed to convert into a ton. Wasim Jaffer and Ganesh Satish took Vidarbha to 129/2 at Tea.

1510 hrs IST: FOUR! Wasim Jaffer has looked particularly solid with the bat. He always brings his experience on the field whenever he shows up in the middle. Can Delhi find a way to get him before stumps?

1445 hrs IST: WICKET! Navdeep Saini strikes finally for Delhi. It’s a good comeback from Delhi. In-form batsman Ganesh Satish departs on 13. Vidarbha are starting to stumble. Vidarbha are 133/3

1440 hrs IST: Back from Tea. It’s Wasim Jaffer and Ganesh Satish in the middle for Vidarbha and Kulwant Khejroliya with the new ball. Can he get a wicket here?

1425 hrs IST: TEA on Day 2! Wasim Jaffer and Ganesh Satish ensured that Vidarbha do not lose out any more wicket at the close of the session and took the total to 129/2 at Tea.

1343 hrs IST: WICKET! Akash Sudan gets another and it’s the big wicket of skipper Faiz Fazal. He departs on 67 and it is the first time this season Fazal has missed out on scoring a century after reaching fifty.

1340 hrs IST: FOUR! Wasim Jaffer’s experience is visible with a stroke like that! What a player he is in domestic cricket. Questions can be asked regarding Rishabh Pant’s captaincy. With a new batsman on the crease, he could have tried to bring on an attacking change to unsettle him.

1330 hrs IST: WICKET! Akash Sudan gets the much-needed breakthrough and it’s R Sanjay who departs. The ball was coming in, gets a slight inside edge and rattles the stumps. Vidarbha lose their first wicket. VID 97/1

1320 hrs IST: The pitch has become the real enemy for Delhi now. It has become really flat. There is not much swing and the ball is not spinning much either. It looks like a complete batting wicket now.

1250 hrs IST: FIFTY! Vidarbha skipper with another brilliant knock and now on the big stage… in the final! He has scored yet another fifty in this Ranji Trophy season. Can he score a century here?

1220 hrs IST: The partnership between Fazal and Sanjay has now gone on to 50 runs. It was primarily the problem in Delhi’s innings. They could not on stitch longer partnerships between two batsmen. Fazal and Sanjay have now set the platform for other batsmen to continue on. Can Delhi bounce back?

1210 hrs IST: Back after Lunch. It is Navdeep Saini with the ball and R Sanjay is on strike. Delhi will look to get early wickets to put pressure on Vidarbha and get some momentum going in the day.

1130 hrs IST: LUNCH on DAY 2. It has been a solid session for Vidarbha. Faiz Fazal and R Sanjay take Delhi to 45/0 at Lunch. But Rajneesh Gurbani remains the star who took 4 wickets in 7 balls early in the day to restrict Delhi to 295.

1120 hrs IST: Spinners have come on for Delhi with the pitch showing signs of slowing down on Day 2. Is it turning out to be a good toss for Vidarbha to win, now?

1100 hrs IST: Fazal and Sanjay are scoring at a good pace for Delhi. The pressure will be on Delhi seamers to replicate what they have witnessed in the first innings from Vidarbha seamers. Can they get any wicket here?

Good length delivery on the stumps, Khejroliya with a wild swing and the ball rattles the stumps. Removes two stumps and the carnage is complete. 1005 hrs IST: WICKET! HAT-TRICK FOR RAJNEESH GURBANI! CLEAN BOWLED AGAIN! What a moment this is for the young man. His 5th wicket in the match. And it’s the big wicket of Dhruv Shorey.

1000 hrs IST: WICKET! ANOTHER BOWLED! Rajneesh Gurbani is on a hat-trick and Navdeep Saini had absolutely no answer for this. What a moment! DEL 290/8. Can he take a hat-trick?

0950 hrs IST: Akshay Thakare is still getting a nice swing with the ball. Clearly shows there is still something in the pitch for the seamers on Day 2. Vidarbha should look to exploit the conditions and get at least a wicket or two before Lunch to unsettle Delhi.

0940 hrs IST: Vikas Mishra has scored just 6 runs in 66 balls. He knows his job in the middle is to give support to Dhruv Shorey who has to take the innings forward. He is holding the other end sensibly while Shorey is going about his business smoothly. So far, Vidarbha bowlers are struggling to get a wicket here.
