About midway through the second half, Villanova - which was previously undefeated - trailed by 23 points, but it was able to claw its way back for a single-digit deficit in the final few minutes. But it wasn't good enough.
Butler shot 60 percent from the field and made 15-of-22 3-pointers while outrebounding the Wildcats, 37-27.
