BLOTTER: Man with “something” in his backpack arrested on multiple drug charges

MIRAMAR BEACH — A Fort Walton Beach man was arrested on multiple drug charges after deputies who pulled him over for a broken tail light found drugs and paraphernalia.

The 33-year-old man was pulled over in Miramar Beach for his passenger tail light being “inoperable,” according to a Walton County Sheriff’s Office arrest report. After providing dispatch with his information, deputies learned he had an active felony warrant out of Okaloosa county. The man was placed under arrest.

After being arrested, the man told deputies he had “something” inside the cigarette package in his backpack. The deputy asked the man if that “something” was marijuana. The man replied, “yes.”

Deputies searched the man and his belongings and went on to find heroin, a spoon, multiple needles, marijuana and a smoking pipe. He was charged with heroin possession, marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession and booked into the Walton County Jail.
