Surat: Fire broke out on Saturday evening in an open ground on Rander-Gorat Road where goods used for decoration during weddings was kept. The ground was used by Tapali Mandap Services to keep goods like bamboo sticks, shamiyana cloths and other materials since last few years. At many as 17 fire tenders from five fire stations were pressed into service to contain the fire in which majority of the goods were gutted. However, no loss of life was reported from the area. Fire officials said that the exact reason for the fire was not immediately known. There was also no injury reported from the small slum settlement near the open ground. tnn
