Delhi Crime Branch has busted an inter-State gang of auto lifters operating in Delhi, Haryana, Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan and North-East region. Six members — including one thief, four receivers and a carrier of stolen cars — have been arrested and 28 stolen luxurious cars have been recovered.
Rajesh Deo, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) said, “The unique modus-operandi was discovered wherein the stolen cars were transported to Nagaland through containers from Haryana and Narendar Singh, Lal Bahadur, Sarik, Sonu, Vijay Dhaiya were the gang members caught. Out of five, Sonu is proficient in opening locked car and can commit theft of a car within minutes. Narender and Vijay are prime receivers of expensive stolen vehicles. They transported the stolen vehicles to Nagaland through transport containers. Accused Sariq and Lal Bahadur also work with them as carriers to transport the vehicles to Nagaland.”
‘Under the leadership of inspector Neeraj Chaudary and supervision of Rajesh Deo, Deputy Commissioner of police (DCP)/Interstate cell crime branch (ISC) crime through their sources developed information regarding the thieves and receivers of the above said stolen car and also develops information that the gang is active in the area of Delhi and National Capital Region.
The relentless efforts of the team yield results, when team of ISC/ Crime branch, Chankyapuri on December 15, apprehended the accused persons -Narendar Singh ,Lal Bahadur , Sarik from Rehta road, Meerut cantt, near flyover. The accused persons were found in possession of one Scorpio car, white colour having fake number plate. The same was found stolen November 20, 2017 from the area of Hari Nagar police station.
On the instance of the accused persons on December 21, thief Sonu was apprehended from panipat, Haryana. From his possession one stolen Swift Dzire car was recovered. From the above said swift desire, different tools used for commission of theft and decode the Ecm/key code like lock sets, Ecms, drill machine, code scanners etc. were recovered.
