The Discovery Center of Springfield is happy to announce Rob Blevins as its new executive director.
Blevins is a well-known face in the nonprofit world as a presenter at the Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership Conference, the Drury Nonprofit Communication Conference and the Ozark Food Harvest Annual Member Conference. He comes to the Discovery Center with a wealth of experience in leadership and public relations, most recently with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks as vice president of community engagement. His expertise in marketing, volunteer recruitment, and business relationships have driven the BBBSO team to win national awards, including the National Agency of the Year Award in 2016, the Pinnacle Award as a Top 7 Performing Agency in Quality and Growth in 2017, and the Social Media Award in 2017.
As an active member of Springfield Sertoma, Blevins has worked on the Sertoma Chili Cook-Off, Wingapalooza, Cashew Craze and Springfield Prom, an event he created in 2015. He is also a member of the Ozark Education Committee, the Bancorp South Community Action Committee, the Simmons Bank Community Advisory Committee and the Springfield Business Journal’s 40 under 40 Class of 2017.
Blevins is the third executive director in Discovery Center history, following former Executive Directors Meleah Spencer and founder Emily Fox.
