Palme (Catucci) Carenza, 95, of New Britain passed away on Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017, with her family by her side. Born in New Britain on Nov. 28, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Vito and Mary (Mancini) Catucci. Palme enjoyed crocheting, listening to music and singing. She spent many summers at her cottage at Cedar Lake in Chester with her family. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her three daughters, Carolyn Kosswig and her husband, Richard, of Bristol, Elaine Roberts of Kensington and Joyce Mahoney and her husband, James, of Bar Harbor, Maine; seven grandchildren, Kristen, Scott, Allison, Eric, Andrea, Kerrigan and Patrick; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of over 60 years, Raphael Joseph Carenza; three siblings and her grandson, Stephen James Mahoney.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 195 S. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be held privately. Friends and family may call at Luddy-Peterson Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., New Britain, Tuesday prior to Mass from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Palmeās memory may be made to St. Joseph Parish, 195 S. Main St., New Britain, CT 06051.
