6-day New Year celebration begins at airport

Indore : Grand six-day-long New Year celebration kicked off at Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar airport in city on Friday. The fest, which will continue till January 3, 2018, will witness a host of cultural and musical activities.

For the first time, the airport administration has planned to convey New Year wish to its passengers in a unique manner. Airport director Aryama Sanyal said that “We have chalked out a long schedule of New Year celebration, under which passengers would be greeted and requested to participate in fun activities in lieu of sweets and beautiful music.”

She informed that “A music band has already started presenting performances for two hours every day. On the New Year Day (January 1), the band would perform in morning. The same day the passengers would be allowed to do painting as per their wish in security hold area. Also, students of Academy of Fine Arts would be doing live paining there.”


 On January 2, members of Lions Club would be visiting the airport and ATC. On January 3, members of AAI and Ola would be observing road safety awareness event outside the airport campus, the director added.
