(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Dec 30 (KUNA) -- 1979 -- Abdullah Meshari Al-Roudhan passes away at age 69. He was a well-known pearl merchant and also held significant posts at the National Assembly and cabinet.
1990 -- Khaled Saleh Al-Ghunaim passes away at age 74. He was a respected businessman who won a seat at the very first National Assembly.
1997 -- Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research announces that an earthquake measuring 4.1 points on the Richter scale shook Al-Ridaifa, 50 kilometers southwest of Kuwait City.
2003 -- The Foreign Ministry signs a protocol with East Timor for diplomatic representation at ambassadorial level.
2007 -- Central Bank of Kuwait raises exchange rate of Kuwaiti Dinar against the USD Dollar to 272.9 fils, the highest in 19 years.
