Palanpur: A 21-year-old woman has lodged a complaint with the police that she was allegedly gang-raped by three men, including her husband, in Bhabhar taluka of Banaskantha.

Police sub-inspector J V Chaudhary, who is investigating the case, said, "The woman is a resident of Devkapdi village. In her complaint filed with Bhabhar taluka police station on Friday night, she told that she had eloped with one Ramesh Chaudhary from Bhimaji Goliya village of Lakhni taluka in June 2015. Ramesh had made false promise of marriage to her. However, Ramesh ditched her and forced her to marry his friend Bhanabhai Chaudhary of Sarkari Goliya village with the help of his aide Sanjay Chaudhary of Deodar taluka."

The woman further alleged that the trio took her to Udaipur, Ajmer and other places in Rajasthan and allegedly gang-raped her for over a year. She said Bhanabhai, with whom she had a court marriage, had confined her to his house in Sarkari Goliya village since last one year. Police said the woman managed to escape from Bhanabhai's house on Wednesday and lodged a complaint against Ramesh, Bhanabhai and Sanjay, accusing the trio of gang-rape.

Police have booked the trio under Sections 376, 323, 506(2), 406, and 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
