Chelsea news: Eden Hazard deserves to consider Real Madrid move - BBC Sport pundit

CHELSEA star Eden Hazard has had his head turned by Real Madrid’s interest in prising him away from Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard is wanted by La Liga giants Real Madrid

That’s the verdict of former Liverpool defender and BBC Sport pundit Mark Lawrenson, who says the Belgian has earned the right to head to the Bernabeu.

Hazard has forged a reputation as one of the world’s top attacking talents during his spell at Chelsea, having helped them win the Premier League twice.

And a switch to Real as the latest Galactico has been heavily touted with only an ankle injury preventing the La Liga giants from swooping this summer.

Speculation has ramped up once again this week after Hazard’s father, Thierry, claimed his son is holding off on signing a new deal in case Real move for him.

And Lawrenson believes the 26-year-old has every right to be keen on linking up with Real because of what he’s achieved while in London.

"I think he’s been tempted by Real Madrid and I think, to be honest with you, he’ll be an absolute perfect fit for something like that," said Lawrenson on Football Focus.

"Chelsea supporters will be going: ‘Oh, sell all our players’.

"But he’ll have done his time.

"He’s a top, top player.

"Of all the people they ever link with going to Real Madrid and Barcelona, he’s definitely one of those players."

Hazard has scored eight goals and provided four assists in 25 appearances for Chelsea this season.

He dropped to the bench for this afternoon’s Premier League encounter with Stoke though.
