PATNA: Better late than never! Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya students, who got admission after a nine-month delay of academic session, need not worry as special classes will be held to complete the curricula before the annual examinations.
The Bihar School Examination Board had organized the mains exam for admission to classes VI, VII and IX at Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya on August 13 and declared the results on October 4.
"While the medical examination of the students of classes VII and IX will be completed by January 8, the medical test of Class VI
pupils will be conducted in mid-January. The results will be declared soon after," school principal Rajiv Ranjan said on Saturday, adding the teachers would try to complete the syllabi and conduct the annual exams on time.
According to Ranjan, special classes will be conducted at the residential school so that students do not suffer. In April 2017, the school authorities had sent the academic calendar to the education department and the board along with a letter asking them to conduct the exams early. Despite all efforts, the session got delayed.
"I am sure that the students, who were studying somewhere else before coming to our school, have covered a major part of the syllabi. They only need to brush up what they have already learned," the principal told this reporter.
