Ujjain – Flag hoisting in school, Shaheed Park

Ujjain : On the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the first flag hoisting in 1943 on Andaman Islands on December 30 by Subhash Chandra Bose, flag hoisting was performed in School of Excellence, Shastri Nagar on Saturday.

The programme was presided over by school principal Bharat Vyas. On this occasion, the national anthem was sung by the students. Students were also given patriotic literature. All staff and students were present on this occasion including Achala Sharma, Arun Sharma, Kailash Sharma, Rajesh Gandhara, Vasundhara Vyas. Lastly, gratitude was expressed by Vidya Vyas.

Similarly, the social and public welfare committee and the members of Madhya Pradesh state women’s commission hoisted and saluted the National Flag at Shaheed Park.

Committee member Ghanshyam Sharma informed about the importance of the day.

Simhastha Fair Authority chairman Diwakar Natu, Nilesh Chandan along with Women Commission members Deepika Pandey and Pramila Yadav were also present. After flag hoisting, everyone also honoured Shakuntala Makwana, a retired government nurse, who donated Rs 5 lakh to Soldiers Welfare Fund.
