Despite the presence of the joint security forces in the Denham Town Zone of Special Operations, some persons in the West Kingston community are still resorting to violence to settle their differences.

According to sources, instead of using guns, others weapons such as machetes, knives, glass bottles, sticks and stones are being used by persons to inflict wounds on other individuals with whom they have conflicts.

THE STAR gathered that yesterday, a man lost an arm in an incident involving a machete.

However, when THE STAR contacted the commanding officer in the zone, senior superintendent Everald Linton, said he could not speak about the incidents at the time.
