Fans attending the Sugar Bowl on Monday night can savor team-inspired menu items created especially for the game, according to Centerplate, the company that handles concessions at the Superdome in New Orleans.
Lenny Martinsen, Centerplate's executive chef, has cooked up four dishes, two inspired by the University of Alabama and two inspired by Clemson University.
“We look forward to hosting two loyal and passionate schools, and wanted to create these special menu items for fans to enjoy. It’s part of our approach to always make the events we host as personal and memorable as possible,” Martinsen said in a news release.
Fans can chow down on the Bama Country Fried Steak, which will be served with a portion of gravy and crispy fries, or the Bama BBQ Pizza, topped with smoked pork, melted cheddar cheese, onions, peppers and barbecue sauce.
Also available for fans' dining pleasure will be the Clemson Pimiento Grilled Cheese, served between two slices of thick-cut toasted bread, and the Clemson Chicken Peach Pizza, topped with roasted chicken, melted cheddar cheese, onions, peppers and barbecue sauce.
All four items will be on sale around concession stands throughout the Superdome on Monday. A Centerplate representative said Friday that prices for the four items had not yet been set.
The game will kick off at 7:45 p.m. Monday.
