What a purr-formance - Kiwi cat video goes viral

Have you ever wondered how to wrap your cat for Christmas?

Look no further because cat-lover Anne Holden shared a video to Facebook wrapping her cat up and instructing others how to do the same.

The video went global in a matter of hours and was even shared by popular social media site LADbible and received 69 million views.

Puudles - the cat at the centre of the fame - wasn't bothered by the gift wrapping Holden said.

"He nearly fell asleep in the wrapping paper, he was very comfortable."

Holden was wrapping up other gifts when she thought about wrapping up Puudles on camera.

"I was wrapping up a Christmas present for my friends daughter and it was quite bulky and quite big.

"I kept lying the paper out to wrap the present up and he kept getting in the way and lying on it.

"Afterward he still wanted to lie on the paper so I thought I'd wrap him up," she explained.

Next she took a photo of the two-year-old British Shorthair and shared it to a private Facebook group.

Receiving countless messages and comments from the group to create a video of the wrapping, Holden thought she would.

Creating a YouTube account for the first time she uploaded the video there, on her Facebook page and shared the link for others to share online.

When the video was first published online her Facebook page 'House of Kittyliciousness', the page - which is dedicated to Puudles and his half-sister Sarah Bear Pusskins - only had 49 likes.

Within hours of the video being online it had been viewed by tens of thousands of people and now the Facebook page currently has 34,000 likes on Facebook.

Holden insists that the video was not meant to go viral and has found the reaction from groups like LADbible wanting to share the video surprising.

"I can't believe this is happening.

"When it started to be seen overseas that's when it really blew me away," she said.

The video has been viewed all around the world in Europe, Japan, Australia, America and New Zealand she said.
