ESTERO — The Residences at University Village, a new luxury student living community immediately adjacent to FGCU’s campus, is completely leased for the 2018-19 academic year.

The Residences, a project of Miromar Development Corp., offers three-story luxury garden-style student apartment buildings with furnished two-bedroom, two-bathroom and four-bedroom, four-bathroom floor plans. Many of the apartments have waterfront views.

Apartment units have furnished living rooms and bedrooms, full kitchens, dining spaces and private laundry rooms with full-sized washers and dryers.

Each bedroom has a full-sized bed, dresser, desk, chair, walk-in closet and private bathroom. All units offer upgraded finishes like granite counter tops and stainless steel, energy-efficient appliances.

The 14,000-square-foot clubhouse is an amenity center featuring a resort-style swimming pool, beach volleyball court, fire pit, fitness center, game room with a pool table and arcade, study lounge with computers and a community room with a full kitchen. Large bandwidth Wi-Fi will be available throughout the apartments and all common areas. Special Resident Life programs will offer a monthly calendar of events and social activities designed to keep students engaged in the university and involved in the community.

Construction on Phase I of The Residences includes 588 beds and will be completed in spring 2018. An additional 336 beds are planned in Phase II.

"Leasing 100 percent of The Residences eight months before the fall semester begins is a great accomplishment," said Margaret Antonier, founder and CEO of Miromar Development. "Our team is working diligently to meet student housing needs as Florida Gulf Coast University continues to grow, and our goal is for The Residences to be the No. 1 residential and lifestyle choice for students."

University Village is a 100-acre mixed use residential and commercial development offering direct access to FGCU’s South Village housing area, future student recreation center and the campus academic core.

University Village Shops, the project’s retail component, offers a lifestyle center for dining, shopping, fitness, health and beauty. Tenants in Phase I of The Shops include Mellow Mushroom, Skillets, Tacos & Tequila Cantina, Yoga Loft, KC American Bistro, F45 Fitness, Thai Udon, Blue Bistro, Poke Fusion, Smoothie King, Shaved Ice, Vanti Nails & Spa and others.

"University Village offers a convenient and attractive setting for college students, faculty and staff, as well as the area’s many residents, to shop, dine and socialize," Antonier said. "We are all looking forward to the opening of the first restaurants and shops."

University Village is on Ben Hill Griffin Parkway between FGCU and Miromar Outlets.
