Congess demands Anantkumar Hedge’s arrest

Belagavi: The District (Rural) Congress Committee, led by its president Vinay Navalagatti, staged a protest here on Saturday, demanding the arrest of Union minister of state Anantkumar Hegde for his alleged statement on changing the Constitution. They also demanded that Hegde be stripped of his position.

Party workers burnt Hegde's effigy at Rani Channamma Circle and chanted slogans against him. Later, they submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner.


Party leaders Rajasalim Kashimnavar, Jayashri Malagi, Kartik Patil, Anand Chopra, Salim Khatib, Nazir Shaikh, Yuvaraj Kadam and Ashok Angadi were present.
