The Warriors (28-8) wound up going 9-2 since Curry sprained his ankle on Dec. 5 and even stepped up their defensive game without their star. But his addition is especially welcome after a lackluster performance in Friday’s disappointing 111-100 loss at home to Charlotte in which the Warriors committed 18 turnovers.
Memphis (11-24) makes its second trip to Oracle in 10 days as it opened the Warriors’ seven-game homestand by succumbing to Golden State 97-84. In that game, the Grizzlies shot just 33 percent from the field and Marc Gasol shot 5-of-15 on his way to a team-high 21 points.
While the Warriors are on a back-to-back, the Grizzlies haven’t played since beating the Lakers in Los Angeles on Wednesday. Tyreke Evans’ 32 points paced the Grizzlies’ 109-99 victory.
After Saturday’s game, the Warriors will have some time off for the New Year before their next game in Dallas on Wednesday.
