A man who allegedly raped and stabbed a woman at a Chester park on Christmas Eve is now in custody, police said Saturday.
Shaquille Malik Tillmon attacked the woman while she walked through Deshong Park on the Avenue of the States on Christmas Eve, police said. Crozer Chester Medical Center contacted Chester police shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday to report the assault. The alleged victim was admitted there for treatment of her injuries.
The victim told police she was attacked in the park by a man riding a bike and carrying a book bag. The suspect dragged the victim into a wooded area, where he stabbed and raped her, police said.
The victim later identified Tillmon from a photo array and he was taken into custody. Tillmon is currently being held on $1 million bail at the George C. Hill correctional facility.
