BEARDSTOWN — The Abingdon-Avon High School girls basketball team wrapped up play at the Beardstown Lady Tiger Classic with a 38-33 win over Athens on Friday.

The Tornadoes carried a 20-18 lead into the intermission and widened their lead with an 11-7 third quarter.

Kayleigh Sebben led A-Town with 14 points and Payton Florine chipped in 13.

The Tornadoes finished 2-2 at the tourney.

At Beardstown, the Wildcats were outscored 9-4 in the first quarter and could not recover in a loss to Pittsfield at the Lady Tiger Classic.

North Fulton trailed 24-14 at the break and was outscored 24-22 in the second half.

Lexi Hanlin put up 22 points to lead the Wildcats.

North Fulton went 2-2 at the tourney.
