PUNE: The Warje Malwadi police on Thursday booked a 56-year-old man from Karvenagar for repeatedly raping a married woman between April and July this year.

An officer from the Warje Malwadi police said the woman and the suspect knew each other and she had borrowed money from him. "The suspect was pursuing her for the money," the officer said.

In April, when the woman failed to return the money, the suspect threatened to kill her husband and son. "He then raped her at different spots around Warje for three months," the officer said.

The woman decided to lodge the complaint after the suspect's son came to her office and abused her recently. "We have booked the suspect and his son under relevent section fo the Indian Penal Code," the officer said.

He said further investigation is on and the suspects will be arrested soon. "We are working on some clues and arrest the suspects," the officer added.
