Mumbai Kamala Mills Fire: NCP trying to shut down pubs

Mumbai: The NCP has started a drive to shut down all pubs. Speaking to the Free Press Journal, Pravin Kiratkar of the NCP said, “We have decided to shut down all pubs at Kamala Mills. Such a big fire occurred last night, yet the pub owners do not have any shame. They should have kept the pubs shut as a mark of respect. Last night, we were lifting bodies along with our party workers at Kamala ill. We felt bad.
They should have kept the pubs shut. Three months ago, a notice had been issued to them to shut down. However, the BMC did not take any action. These pubs should be allowed to reopen only whey they have proper documents and adhere to the guidelines.” According to S Jaykumar, Additional Commissioner “The NCP party workers are at the spot. Deputy Commissioner of Police is also at the spot. The situation is peaceful.”
