During my career in the consulting industry, one of my most enjoyable and professional associations was with the Huntsman Corp. When I heard that The Salt Lake Tribune had been purchased by the Huntsman group, I was elated to think that there would finally be fair, equal and consistent reporting.

I couldn’t have been more incorrect. For example, when President Barack Obama released four heinous terrorists from Gitmo to obtain the release of an admitted traitor, this newspaper printed only a short and almost conciliatory piece.

In addition, racial discourse in this country was fueled by Obama almost any time law enforcement had to physically subdue specific criminals. Again, nothing questioning this negative rhetoric was printed.

Conversely, any time the current administration renders almost any change or attempt to improve our government, for example, negativity is consistently a byproduct of The Tribune.

“Fair,” “equal” and “consistency” are not words that express values associated with this newspaper. Narrow-minded politics appear to be most important to this reporting agency.
