BAYONNE -- A second water main break in as many days has shut down a portion of Kennedy Boulevard, according to the Bayonne Office of Emergency Management.
The 6-inch break at 43rd Street and Kennedy Boulevard is much less serious than yesterday's 20-inch main break and is only creating a minor traffic situation, Bayonne OEM coordinator Edoardo "Junior" Ferrante said.
Kennedy Boulevard, from Dillon Drive to 45th Street, is closed while crews work on the main break, he said.
There is also no boil water advisory and no one is out of service due to this new break.
Meanwhile, crews are finishing repairs to yesterday's water main break at 55th Street and Broadway. The OEM in a Facebook post said that "the few" residents and businesses that have been without water following Thursday's water main break should see full service by noon.
Suez, the company that manages Bayonne's water supply, will then begin making repairs to the street surface at 55th Street and Broadway. That area is expected to re-open later today.
