GREELEY — A Greeley man will spend 20 years in prison after a routine traffic stop in Weld County led police to a drug bust.
It happened on June 15, 2017, when according to court documents, police pulled over Antonio Rodriguez, 65, after a traffic violation in the 1500 block of Seventh Avenue in Greeley.
During the stop, police found a total of 33.8 grams of methamphetamine and nearly $1,600 cash on Rodriguez. According to the affidavit, the total weight of the narcotics and cash is consistent with the distribution of narcotics.
Officers found an empty can of beer in his vehicle and he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
During the investigation, officers also discovered the defendant was a habitual offender.
The court sentenced Rodriguez to 20 years in the Department of Corrections.
