Letter: Peter B. Hoffmann: Democracy benefits from the Mueller investigation

Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin tried to get cozy with each other. The question is why. Was it an attempt to improve relations for the betterment of world affairs, or was it driven by more nefarious purposes?

Unfortunately, the reputations of both leaders are such that a negative purpose seems more likely than a positive purpose. The Mueller investigation will get to the bottom of this and establish what happened, and why. If Trump and his team did nothing bad, they will be exonerated. If they did something bad, they will be held accountable.

Either way democracy benefits.
