Three people died in a shooting at a southwest Houston auto shop, according to the Houston Police Department.

A former employee, who has not been identified, entered Bemer Plus auto shop in the 14300 block of South Post Oak Road, near West Orem, shortly before 4 p.m., according to HPD Executive Assistant Chief Troy Finner.

The shooter then walked outside and shot himself, according to police.

"(It's) very, very sad this time of year or any part of the year (when) we lose three citizens," said Finner, outside the auto shop on Friday evening.

Police did not release any details on the motive of the shooting. Finner did not disclose when the employee stopped working at the auto shop.
