PANAJI: The state cabinet has approved a proposal to grant consumers/industry, who have approached the government, six monthly instalments to clear fuel and power purchase cost adjustment (FPPCA) bills from May-July 2017 without levy of
delayed payment charges.
In a note moved before the cabinet it was stated that some industries, including Alloy and Steel Manufactures Association of Goa, had requested the government to grant them 12 equal monthly, interest-free instalments to pay the FPPCA charges.
Under the proposed scheme, the chief minister, in his note, said that a sudden burden on the
metallurgical industry, which faces international competition, may cripple their functioning.
