SAN ANTONIO — LaMarcus Aldridge had 25 points and every San Antonio starter scored in double figures as the Spurs beat the Knicks 119-107 on Thursday night.
Pau Gasol added 17 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists for San Antonio.
The Spurs led by as many as 17 points in an uncharacteristically high-scoring game for them. San Antonio was limiting opponents to 98 points per game, but the Knicks were able to increase the pace.
The reserve forward Michael Beasley led the Knicks with 23 points. Courtney Lee and Kristaps Porzingis had 18 points apiece, but Porzingis fouled out with 2 minutes 30 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. Porzingis entered the game averaging 7 points in the fourth quarter, but he managed just 2 in the period before fouling out on Thursday.
The Knicks, who lost to the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday, fell to 5-9 in back-to-back games this season; this was their third time losing both games on consecutive days.
The Spurs improved to 17-2 at home with the win, which was their third straight over all.
The Spurs were without Kawhi Leonard, Rudy Gay left the game with a foot injury only two nights after San Antonio had played with a full roster for the first time all season. Leonard sat out for rest.
Kyle Anderson had 16 points and eight rebounds starting in place of Leonard. Tony Parker scored 14 points, including 10 in the first quarter as San Antonio bolted to an early lead.
