Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley, the NFL's leader in rushing yards (1,305) and touchdowns (19), has put up MVP-like numbers in the playoff-bound Rams' 11-4 season.

But even if Gurley doesn't win the award — which has gone to a quarterback nine of the past 10 seasons — his place in fantasy football lore stretched far in 2017.

In the past two games, Gurley's 456 yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns helped him tally 45 PPR fantasy points (in ESPN fantasy football leagues). Since Gurley's two-game outburst helped some fantasy players clinch league championships, several winners have said on Twitter that they are donating a portion of their winnings to Shriners Hospitals for Children, where Gurley has close ties.

"Man, that was dope," Gurley told ESPN, as he learned about the donations when winners notified him through Twitter. "That's real cool, just seeing that on social media. It doesn't matter what the money amount is — $10, $5, $25. Just to see that and people caring, that means a lot."
