LOS ANGELES (AP) — Oklahoma running back Rodney Anderson said Friday he is focused on the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Rose Bowl after a prosecutor declined to file sexual assault charges against him earlier this month.
"I've got that behind me and just concentrate on football," Anderson said, speaking with reporters for the first time since he was accused in a petition for a protective order of assaulting a woman in her apartment last month.
The second-ranked Sooners play No. 3 Georgia on Monday. Anderson was optimistic the accusation would not tarnish his reputation.
"I feel like I've done a really good job building my reputation to this point," Anderson said. "I feel like I built it on my faith and my family, so I feel like the people who really know me known that. If you don't know me, then hopefully you can see it through the people that do."
Anderson, a redshirt sophomore, was a breakout star for the Big 12 champion Sooners. He rushed for 960 yards and 11 touchdowns and had 16 receptions for 283 yards and five touchdowns despite not starting a game until late October.
