Expect some light snow Friday morning. Wochit
After some historically cold temperatures in parts of southeast Michigan this week, the National Weather Service in White Lake forecasts that the region will enjoy some warmer temperatures Friday, before snow showers develop over the Detroit area and become persistent overnight.
Temperatures are expected to reach the mid to upper teens across the region, and a snow accumulation of 2 inches is possible between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, most likely between the M-59 and I-94 corridors, the White Lake office posted online.
The weather service says the region can expect another influx of arctic air to arrive this weekend.
“Very cold weather is expected to last through the first week of January," the White Lake office posted online.
The expected wind chill Saturday night through New Year’s Day is 5 to 15 degrees below zero, the White Lake office forecasts.
