The Brazilian Pay Television Association (ABTA), whose members include Claro, NET, Vivo, SKY and OiTV, have won a lawsuit against HTV International, reports TV Magazine. The company is responsible for the sale of the HTV Box devices, which illegally transmit pay-TV channels without the need for a monthly contract with any operator. HTV International was ordered to pay BRL 500,000 in damages to ABTA.

In addition to suspending production of the devices, the Brazilian Justice has determined, as a matter of urgency, that ISPs must block the IP addresses through which illegal streaming pay-TV video traffic passes.
