150 fail to attend 38th BCS exam in Rajsahi

Nearly 150 students of Bogra couldn't participate in the 38th BCS exam being stuck in traffic jam on Friday.

The victim aspirants requested the police to open the doors, while some burst into tears to let them get in their exam centre, Rajshahi College.

At one stage, they staged demonstration as college authority didn't permit to let them sit for exam.

Shila Khatun, an examinee said to the Daily Observer their bus stuck in a long traffic jam as a truck accident occurred at Ranbagha area on the Natore-Bogra Highway. Nearly 50 students of that bus couldn't attend the exam as their bus arrived few minutes later, added Shila.

Another student Zubayer Hasan said he started from Bogra at 4:00am night to attend the BCS preliminary exam in Rajsahi, but couldn't attend the exam.

“For many of us, it was their last chance to attend BCS exam,” said Zubayer.

"I took my best preparation for the exam as my insolvent family can't afford a job through lobbying or bribery,” said weeping examinee Afsana Irin.

Rajsahi College Principal Habibur Rahman, also the secretary of the centre, said, "Examinees are to enter the exam hall within 10am. Today, 200 applicants out of 750 were absent at the centre as many of them could not enter exam hall in time."

38th BCS preliminary exam was scheduled from 10 am to 12 pm on Friday.
