EastEnders fans left baffled over 'missed episode'

EASTENDERS viewers were flummoxed when the first of Thursday's double-bill didn't appear to are any sense.

have been waiting on tenterhooks since Tuesday's nail-biting episode, which showed the aftermath of Abi and Lauren Branning's (Lorna Fitzgerald and Jacqueline Jossa) deadly pub plunge.

The episode showed both Abi and Lauren's lives hanging in the balance, with Lauren suffering a major, unexpected bleed when she was in theatre and Abi's brain scan looking bleak.

Parents Max Branning (Jake Wood) and were left shaking their head when a nurse said she had bad news about a "daughter", with the episode finishing on a cliffhanger while fans wondered whether either of the Branning sisters had died.

But when the first of tonight's double-bill kicked off, fans were left perplexed when the first thing they saw was Stacey Fowler (Lacey Turner) struggling to cook a turkey.

Fans were left still wondering what had happened with Abi and Lauren nearly halfway through the ep, with mum Tanya conspicuously missing.

The sudden change in tone did not go down well with EastEnders fans, who took to Twitter to ask whether they had even missed an episode the night before.

"That episode of EastEnders seemed all over the place," wrote one disgruntled fan.

"Have I missed an episode of EastEnders?" asked another.

A third interjected: "This episode is a bit of an anti-climax."

Another commented: "Had to check if I missed an episode! I'm so confused right now, keep missing things."

It was eventually revealed that both Lauren and Abi survived, with Lauren seen cuddling with previously absent baby Louie.

Meanwhile, Abi had suffered a "catastrophic brain injury," with the youngest Branning sister in a coma.
