INDORE: City police booked two persons for fleeing with luxury cars hired from a few persons in Vijay Nagar area on Wednesday. The accused had earlier published advertisements in a newspaper seeking cars in rent. No arrest has been made in the incident till Thursday evening.

According to investigating officer BK Raghuwanshi, Gokuldas Compound resident Anand Jain had lodged a complaint stating Jignesh Rathore of Mumbai and Sohan Sharma of Vijay Nagar had published an advertisement in a newspaper seeking luxury cars on monthly rent basis.

After seeing the advertisement, he met the accused and rented his Nissan Terrano car and his wife Rekha’s Skoda Rapid car to them after completing the due diligence.

The accused also reportedly tricked luxury cars out of two more victims, Ravi Buddh Dev and Michael Thomas, applying the same modus operandi and they did not even give rent advance to the owners as well.

The victims further alleged that the accused in the agreement had mentioned that the cars will be handed over to them on every Saturday and Sunday and also, promised to install GPS to help the car owner track the location of their cars.

However, as the cars were not handed over to them on time and after failing to find the vehicles through GPS as well, Jain along with other victims reached the office of the accused Abhigna Motors in Orbit Mall and found it closed.

Smelling a rat they immediately informed police which have registered a case under section 406 of the IPC and started investigation into the case.
