Arsenal drop major transfer hints with 2018 club calendar reveal

ARSENAL have shown their intent to keep Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil in the New Year by including both players in the club’s official 2018 calendar.

Arsenal have been tipped to lose Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil in January with the pair out of contract in the summer.

Sanchez has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester City, while Ozil is said to be a target for their cross-city rivals United.

Despite the rumours, Arsene Wenger has insisted he expects both players to remain at the Emirates in the New Year.

And the club are clearly confident of doing so after they issued their official 2018 calendar with the duo included.

Sanchez was selected to be the face of January, while Ozil was given his slot in October.

Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud were also included, despite uncertainty surrounding their futures in recent weeks.

Perhaps the most notable absentee was Jack Wilshere, although both he and Wenger have stressed this week they expect a new deal to be agreed.

“I feel fitter, and am getting better each game,” Wilshere said after the Gunners’ 3-2 win over Crystal Palace.

“I spoke to the boss [about contract talks] and he said he will speak to me. I’m sure it will get done.”

Wenger added after the match: “The situation is that we need to sit down with him.

“In the beginning of January, it’s planned, there is no delay.

“I said that we would sort out his situation at the end of December, and so I told him that we want to meet and sit down with him to talk about the future. That’s what I did.”
